Fitness Program Registrations:

  • Program Information

    Experience the calming benefits of Tai Chi Qigong in some of Rocky River's most beautiful outdoor spaces. This free community wellness series is designed to improve balance, mobility, relaxation, and overall well-being through gentle, flowing movements suitable for all experience levels.

    Schedule

    Classes are held Saturdays at 9:00 AM:

    • June 20 – City Hall Gazebo

    • July 11 – Rocky River Park (Upper Deck)

    • August 8 – Martin Park

    • September 12 – City Hall Gazebo

    Program Focus

    Tai Chi Qigong combines slow, intentional movement with breathing techniques to promote physical health, stress reduction, balance, flexibility, and mindfulness. No prior experience is necessary, and participants are encouraged to move at their own pace.

  • Program Information

    Youth Athletic Development (Ages 11–14) is designed to prepare middle school athletes for high school sports by building strength, improving movement quality, and enhancing overall performance through safe, progressive training.

    Schedule

    July 7-23

    Tuesday and Thursdays 6:45 PM Studio 1, Civic Center

    Program Focus

    Athletes learn foundational resistance exercises using dumbbells and light barbells, with a strong emphasis on proper technique, control, and posture. The program also develops speed, agility, and quickness through drills that improve footwork, reaction time, and change of direction, while incorporating core strength and stability work. By the end, participants gain confidence, discipline, and the skills needed to train effectively and transition successfully into high school athletics.

  • Program Information

    Dance, groove, and connect with your little one in this welcoming movement class designed specifically for parents and caregivers. This fun and supportive program combines music, movement, and bonding opportunities while keeping your child close and comfortable.

    Program Focus

    Enjoy simple, easy-to-follow movements that are perfect for all fitness levels. Each class features a mix of music—from 90's and early 2000's favorites to today's hits—and encourages parents and caregivers to move, bond, and connect with their little ones in a positive, welcoming environment.

    Additional Information

    • Designed for parents and caregivers wearing their babies.

    • Children who are no longer being worn are welcome to join alongside their caregiver.

    • No prior dance or fitness experience is required.

  • Program Information

    Unwind and reconnect with nature during Yoga in the Park at Rocky River Park. This free outdoor class combines movement, mindfulness, and the beauty of Lake Erie, creating a relaxing setting for participants of all experience levels.

  • Program Information

    Take your workout outdoors this summer with Rocky River Recreation's Outdoor Fitness Bootcamp. Led by certified personal trainer Tony Quarrick, this energizing class utilizes the outdoor fitness equipment behind Memorial Hall along with bodyweight exercises and conditioning drills designed for all fitness levels.

    Program Focus

    Participants will improve strength, endurance, mobility, and overall fitness through a variety of bodyweight exercises, functional movements, and conditioning activities. Whether you're just getting started or looking to supplement your current routine, all skill levels are welcome.
